Dark and Dreary

It shouldn't be an excuse but I've had a pretty dreadful week. Got very sick and ended up missing the Blogger's United Bazaar, which I had been looking forward to for months. But oh well, nothing I can do about it now.

To combat all this weary, dreary monotony, I decided to put together a kind of visual moodboard, in the hopes that it will help uplift my mood. But I'm also hoping that this weekend will go a long way to changing this mopey perspective on things and lighten us up, yeah?

Sorry there's no original content, but after a horrible week, images like these are what you need to get by and inject some beauty in your life.

All images are from desire to inspirethe Coveteur and Fancy. They are all lovely lovely sites filled with gorgeous content. You could spend hours on them, just drinking up beauty with your eyes. Not a bad way to kill a couple of hours.

Multiply Shopping Lounge at Bloggers United 2

Ooh, Multiply's going to have a shopping Lounge at the Blogger's united Bazaar! I am intrigued haha I have been looking forward to this bazaar for quite a while, especially since I've heard so much about it! I can't wait to meet some of the bloggers I admire, and of course, I can't wait to shop hehe

I really hope there will be a lot of bargains, as I'm on a budget din but oh well haha we shall see. I can't wait!

So why not come on over and join us on December 3 at Treston international College!

Asian Vogue

My dream shoes from Asian Vogue have arrived!!

Ever since I first caught a glimpse of the Balenciaga F/W '06 leather and suede harness boots, I fell in love. And since there was absolutely no way I'd be able to afford the original, I had to settle for a knock-off. I first tried to get the Soule Phenomenon "Only the Marvelous" bootie, but by the time I had saved up enough cash, all they had left was a pair in brown, and one was missing a harness! Of course, the harness is one of the main draws of these shoes so there was no option.

But of course, while browsing other Multiply sites, I came across Asian Vogue, and lo and behold, there they were! I had to wait til my first paycheck to order 'em, but as soon as I was able to, it was go-time.
And now they're finally here!

The only complaint I have is that it took quite a long time, but then again, that was one of their conditions. I guess I'm just too impatient, as one can be when they await some pretty sweet shoes.
I actually thought they'd be similar to Soule Phenomenon's "Only the Marvelous" pair, in that the harnesses would be detachable, but apparently I didn't study the pictures enough haha but oh well, I didn't really plan on removing the harnesses anyway.

I saw them waiting for me as soon as I got home from work, so I couldn't wait to put them on. I really tore through the packaging in my haste haha

I personally think that they look great. And I love the contrasting textures of the material. Of course, being new, it'll have to be broken in a bit but it fit snugly on my feet. It really is true to size (I'm a size 5). I hope that it'll contour to my feet easily and become more comfortable.

As a little extra photo, here's what I wore to work today! I decided to snap a pic wearing the new shoes hehe please don't mind the spots on the mirror, it's really old and paint as well as some sort of moisture stains have damaged the surface. But I love how the angle at which it's propped on the floor makes you look instantly taller/thinner haha it is very flattering, but can give you a very skewed perception of what you really look like haha

Forever 21 maxidress, random belt from my mom, various bangles etc, and Asian Vogue booties

Ugh, sorry kids. I have tried absolutely everything I can think of, and it will not upload in the upright position. Weird enough, it shows up properly on my laptop, it just screws up when I upload :| frustrating.

But anyway, yeah. Oh, and the reason why my hair looks different from my other outfit post a couple weeks back is because I got it permed (again) haha that was my signature hairstyle in my sophomore year in college and I was getting bored of growing out my pixie cut (signature hairstyle for 3rd year) so I went back haha

Anyways, can I just say that I've heard a lot of glowing reviews of Asian Vogue, and (so far) they do not disappoint. The quality of the shoes seem pretty good and they look great too! Looking forward to giving them a test run tomorrow, I hope I don't get too many blisters haha I think that I will be a returning customer (just hope there was a way to get the shoes earlier!)

Outfit Creator

The reason why I don't post a lot of outfit posts, this ostensibly being a kind of fashion-y type blog (if I sound unsure, it is because of what I am trying to address in this post) is because in the office I work in, it is really really cold.

I feel cold quite intensely. I remember being in high school, freezing my ass off in 2 jackets while my classmates complained of the heat. Sucks to me now, that it is cold enough for me to find it necessary to wear gloves in the office. I'm not exaggerating, I really do.

And so, I find myself dressing more for the cold in *shudder* boring outfits that I would not otherwise wear. Pants, jeans, long-sleeves, jackets, scarves. None of it exciting enough to deserve being photographed. I do not have the clothes for cold weather.
So I find myself wishing to be out in the sun (a bit hard for the past couple of days, given the rain and drowsy skies of the metro), frolicking in the warmth. Since I can't do that til the weekend, here's the outfit I wish I could wear for work, courtesy of TheMall.ph.

Street Beat Boutique tribal print top, Street Beat Boutique sheer shorts, Chilli Margarita Shoes Tucson boots, Pinkaholic Fashion Shoppe shawl neckline cardigan, Cathy Clarisse envelope clutch
I love this feature of their website. I find it so useful for putting together a wish list, or just imagining what you would buy if you had the cash. A great thing about it is that all of the items featured are available in the Philippines, and they are all reasonably priced as well! It's a win-win.

The only thing I'd like to change is their built-in setting of not being able to put feature more than 5 items per outfit, that's a bit of a let-down. Oh well, good enough.

Looking forward to the weekend, but for now, this'll have to tide me over.

The Glamourai: Blogger Extraordinaire

Kelly Framel of the Glamourai is my all-time favorite, idol/icon/inspiration blogger. I swear, she does everything! She blogs, makes jewelry, collaborates and designs. She has modeled for certain brands, and she decorates and designs interiors as well.

Her cape dress is the stuff of my dreams

What I like about her is that she has the ability to write well and document all of her experiences in a way that shows readers her personality. Her posts translates her everyday life so well, so much so that while you cannot help a twinge of envy at her incredible, fabulous life, you still manage to like her very much as a person (as much as you can through the internet, alas) because she seems so friendly and nice. She is stylish and fashionable while remaining down-to-earth and imminently relatable. It is the perfect mix of style and substance, condensed into every post.

Everytime I am on her site, I feel inspired. It's the perfect feel-good, visually stimulating site that always challenges me to make the most of my style in any way I possibly can. Kelly, in fact, is one of my primary influences that led me to my foray into blogging. Like hers, I hope mine takes off as well.

What I love about her style is that it is a great example of mixing and matching. High-end with thrift store, designer and vintage, modern silhouettes and floaty creations. I also love how she can change up her look all the time. Her various hairstyles have inspired my own changes to my mop of hair. It seems that we both cannot bear to have the same look for too long. I think that she is gorgeous and if you haven't seen her blog yet, check it out soon!

All photos are from her blog, The Glamourai.

SM Accessories' Holiday Campaign

It's not holiday season 'til the stores start showing their Christmas campaigns. Of course, who else would have the choices and options that SM has for theirs?
One great thing about SM is that you can always find some variation of whatever you're looking for, and the price won't break the bank. That is an especially important factor for me since I hardly have a bank to break haha

I've found some great items while shopping at SM and with the coming of their Christmas collection, I'll be looking for more.

Here's a sneak peek of SM Accessories' holiday collection.

I'm loving the warm, brown and burgundy palette and background of the campaign. Very autumnal, sophisticated, and different from other garish red and green and white tinselled holiday campaigns that hurt the eyes.

And this shows exactly what you'd love to look like for Christmas parties and soirees: regal and elegant. Still looks you can party in, but you'll party with class.

And who wouldn't want to wake up to this under their Christmas tree? Mmm, yummy. Personally, I could do without the fancy manny-pack (men's fanny packm geddit??) but the shirt looks gorgeous, as does the model.

Can't wait to see more of their upcoming collection.

Ayala-D'Bayan Exhibit

As previously mentioned, I went to last night's Ayala-D'Bayan Exhibit. My cousin Kat, a fine arts student in UP, is one of the students that Igan D'Bayan has been mentoring, and she invited me.

Mr. Igan D'Bayan
Jacket: Tonichi Nocom, Vest and Pants: Topman, Shoes: Bass
Silver skull rings picked up from travels abroad (sorry about the blurriness)

And while I did enjoy Mr. D'Bayan's fun, dark pieces,

Quite a few of the pictures I took were pretty blurry, as the auto option on the cam is broken and my glasses aren't just for show (I really am rather blind without them)

I like 'em quirky
Kat tells me that some of these are inspired by exes

I really liked the vibrant colors and randomness of the images in Mr. Jaime Zobel's works.

From the quality of these pictures, I'm sure you can tell that I'm no photographer, but at least I tried! It was fun soaking up some culture, I think I should do it more often.
